In 1984, Dave Roper became the first American to ever win the Isle of Man TT on a Matchless G50. He was sponsored by a guy who recently moved to the area. He had a few of us local riders over for dinner a while back and had the bike out for us to see. Oh yeah, the guy also restores PT boats - after dinner we stormed the Hudson River Philippines style.
is team obsolete still racing? they were big in the AHRMA scene for a quite a while.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I'm not really sure. The guy still has a bunch of bikes, parts and gear hanging around, but I' don't know the status.
