Paul's Logan

Went to Haverhill, MA today to help with cleaning out the basement of my wife's late grandfather Paul Boucher. "Pepere" was quite a person and I count myself lucky to have known such a man. Your lathe will live on in my shop, Paul. I'll wear the belt buckle of a great man with pride.

"They're all going to laugh at you"

Just bought this for the shovel. I can hear it now...

It's NOS Giuliari (which I've heard is Italian for "Not a Bates"). Supposedly a big seat name from back in the day, though I've never heard of them and suddenly the seats are all over the place going for pretty cheap on ebay.

Another pic of the Frisco Shovel

Tough to tell which pic is earlier, different headlight and oil cooler but pre-chrome on the pipes. Also just noticed the oil cooler is moved to the back on the other pic.

reblog

Since trying to reinforce my oil tank doesn't make for interesting pics, my contribution is stolen shots from the web.
from Satan's Crate, Bobby Boyars must have been really high.
I sold this for $180 this week.
nomads cycles, can you Brit guys explain this?
Forgot where I found it, love the mids.

above the wheels, I think this bike would suit the wizard looking guy with a purple fetish.

SuperB-ly prepped Super B

By Bones @ Connecticut Performance.
Can't wait to bolt this gem on.
Thunderjets are for drag racing, you might say...but what Bones does is set up the air bleeds so that TJet acts more like your main jet, so you can make your main jet smaller, thus smoothifying your transitional...cross-circuit...um...atomization...well I forget exactly, but it'll be good juju.

Coming soon..

...to a roadway near you.

Spring(er) is here

Acme springer. Nice quality; someone actually gave a damn when they made this.
I'd recommend one of these things in a heartbeat if you're into the style.

Great balls o' Fire.

Crane 308B Fireball cam. I told my man that ease of starting was paramount (just thinking of you guys...) so I hope he didn't steer me wrong with some high-lift/mucho overlap bumpstick.
Apparently Bones likes 308 because it's got an indexable gear; you can run normal timing, or retard/advance the cam timing 4 degrees which would move the power up or down the rev range...

Herb's farther along than I am.

But it's all coming together nicely.

Since I've been too wimpy to get anything done outside,

I decided to do a lot of reading this winter. I just picked this up and haven't gotten too far into it but it already seems very worthwhile. A little pricey, but written the way a book like this should be and a good deal of helpful stuff.

All the big winter plans

haven't really happened,
New List
  • clean carb
  • adjust clutch
  • adjust front brake
  • fluids change
  • ride(with the occasional smoke screen & oil leak)
I heard the best thing you can do for a 60 year old motor is shut it down for the winter then start kicking like a madman 3 months later. I wonder why I break down the most?

Speaking of old pics...

...I found this while rummaging though some old pictures. It's the hood of a car I painted years ago (based on a Van Gogh painting) when I did an enduro race at Star Speedway in NH. It's called and enduro race, but when you have hundreds of cars on a 1/4 mile track, it's just an exercise in mutually-assured automotive destruction.

Warmer times

In retrospect my bars should have been 3-4 inches shorter, look at the rookie with the politically incorrect wheel angle...

My old friend Chip

Looking thru old pics, how could I ever forget about Chip, good times!
