This is version two on my 45, and I'm not happy with them. I may try version three using a dinged up pair of used tanks, ask Jay to weld them, and have them powdercoated that aluminum color. Narowed split tanks rock, and they'd look perfect on Herb's bike. Jay was telling me there'd be clearance issues requiring fancy relief work with the rocker boxes on a BT. Not so with my 45. I can't get a photo to post. Cut and paste this link.
They're at a funny angle. They have filler. I welded in bungs to hold a shifter gate and it looks like ass. I welded on a tab for a handshifter and it looks like ass. The rear portion of the tanks should be narrower. Did I mention they look like ass? They do, however, hold fuel (after some POR-15).
Good one Herb. You posted a bike I actually like. That's a good looking set of tanks. That bike is just right.

What's not to be happy with, I think they look great, do they hold fuel?
