Temp tank...?

I needed a temporary tank and the closest candidate I had was this wall art Bob negotiated for me a couple years ago at Stafford.
Not only does the tank fit nicely, it actually holds fuel without leaking. So, mighty tank with winged black fellow leering over young warrior couple, you will ride again...heart of an eagle, he flies through the rainbow, into a new world and finds the sun.

OK, I stole that last bit from Stratovarius.

Tradition

June 8, 9, 10 2012

This is what happens..

..When you go to Vanson Leather's Open House! We went to check everything out and possibly pick up a liner for my leathers and we ended up walking out with 6 new jackets (including the liner). It was hard not to though, there was a whole room with sale jackets and accessories for killer prices. Leather jackets and pants were $99 and textile jackets and pants were $45, and all of it was buy 3 get one free (making the price of each textile jacket less than $35!). I picked up a couple textile jackets (2 ventilators and a solid) for summer riding in addition to a liner, and the missus picked up a leather and a textile. There were also deals on everything in house and major sale prices. We ended up out the door with half a dozen jackets for less than half the price a regular priced leather jacket. It was a good time and we also ran into a few friends down there. It pays to live near Vanson! If you want to check out their stuff and maybe make a purchase, now is the time to do it. Just make sure to hurry because regular sizes are going quick and once they're gone, they're gone!

Ganked from Love Cycle...

I figure HG would probably look right on this thing.
Sharp, huh?

Vanson Leathers Open House

Going on right now though next weekend is Vanson's semi-annual open house. There's good deals to be had and it's a good ride if you're in the area. Definitely take the factory tour if you stop by. It's amazing to see what goes into all of their jackets and custom racing suits. I have a couple of their jackets and I'm very happy with them.

Non bike related

Yeah, they are skateboards, but I thought a few fans of the movie(s) would enjoy.

Gem amongst the junk.

My turn...here's where the FX is at.
Starter wired and working, now it's on to the 2 dozen little things required to get it on the road. This weekend I hope to get pushrods, carb and ignition sorted so I can start it up.

Big ugly switch under the seat is a battery cut-off; recommended on this era e-start bikes...

Early Superbike

1983 CB1100F. One year only, and one of the early Honda superbikes. Found one under a dropcloth in the corner of a friend's garage. It's just begging to go out and be ridden, and may be had for a song! Hmmm, do I really need another project? The price may be too good to pass up.

Long roller bearings

...or the "Big Fix" as they call it...unless I'm popping for a Riviera clutch, I consider this a standard modification along with a retainer disc. Really cuts down on clutch basket wobble.
